Inspired
by my new costume, this face painting design in orange, pearl and black was pretty fun to create and fairly quick in coming together.
This was a 45 minute paint job, including the heart on the chest, and was part of my Precompression look.
Tools Needed:

Colors Needed:

Technique:
 |
|
- Begin by applying a black outline on the upper lid near the lash with the square brush
- Using the same size brush, apply orange to the lower part of the lid below the crease, mixing with the black and pulling it up and out
- Blend the colors together as you pull away from the lashes and sideways
|
- Apply the pearl to the upper part of the lid, blending it with the orange as you drag toward the outer edge of the eye
- Line the eye again on both the top and bottom lid; be sure to pull the swirls out from the edge of the eye on the left side of the face
- Create the heart and moon outlines
- Mix the orange from the swirl and the heart as you did on the eyes
|
|
 |
 |
|
- Apply the pearl on top of the orange around the swirl, heart and moon; partial application gives the illusion of depth and shadow
- Using the thin brush, touch up the black edges to add definition
- Using the other thin brush, apply pearl to the outline of the swirls, moon and heart
- Add highlight to the eyes with the thin pearl brush underneath the black lines
|
- Outline the lips with the thin black brush
- Apply orange and mix with the black to cover the lips
- Cover the lips with pearl to add more depth and shine
- Create a heart on the chest using the same techniques used for the heart on the face
- Using the eye shadow brush, apply orange glitter to the more orange spaces on the face, including the lips
