- Begin by outlining the general shape of the butterfly around the face lightly. Use the purple shade and a thin brush.
- Once you are satisfied with the shape, lay it down in a fairly thick coat of black. Make sure to use the square brush. You can even use a thicker square brush (I used one that was 7mm or so)
- Using the 7mm brush, load it with the purple color and then apply it inside the black line toward the eyes.
- To create the shading from the edge of the butterfly, blend between the black edge of the butterfly and the purple you just applied to the face. Note you may have to clean the brush, apply more water, apply more purple and/or some combination of the above to get a nice blend.

- Next, load a square brush with pearl and apply that closer to the eyes than the purple. As you did with the purple and black, blend the pearl and purple. the entire inside of the butterfly should be a blended black to purple to light purple all the way from the edge of the butterfly inside to the eyes, including the lids.
- Using the thin detail brush, apply thin black lines
around the eyes as close to the lashes as possible
- Using the same brush, thicken the blackĀ highlights around the butterfly edge
- Using the same brush, extend the line around the eye and out to the curly edges around the butterfly wings
- Using the 2.5mm square brush, create the black dots under the eye.
- Using the 2.5mm brush, create white dots on the black edges and along the butterfly wing on the cheek and forehead.
- Add highlight dots with the thin brushes — white on black and black on white — to add more dimension to the shape.
- Add a silver highlight around the butterfly wings with the 2.5 mm or thin brush.
- Add silver glitter on top of the dots, if desired.
- This look is completed with a ruby
shimmer on the lips
- Additionally, tiny diamond bindi dots were placed
in the inside corner of the eyes as well as
the outside edges of each eye
